Zoli's creations

door Zoli » Vr Nov 03, 2006 17:35

Hi!

I'm a member of your forum.
I like it because you write lots of replies, and I can find that topics which are my favourites. I watch the new replies every day. :) Unfortunately I can't speak Dutch so I only watch the pictures, links and smilies. 8)
Now I thought I open a new topic for my creations because I would like to know what do you think about them.
I hope it isn't a problem that I write English replies.
So here is my newest creation:
Afbeelding
It's a scania truck. I would like to build a very large crane to it.(maybe with 20-24 pneumatics)
Take a look to the first wheels steering. I think it's a very good one, because the turnpoint is in the middle of the tires.
I won't put motors in it because all of them are in my liebbher crane.
So what do you think about it :?:

I was just watching the brickshelf folder. And I like the steering system of the first 2 wheels alot, but is it strong enough to hold the cabine?

the 2 cylinders in the front are a bit strange, do you got a picture of a real truck having those?

edit: sorry for teh bad english :')

:) that is a very nice hinge system , you find mostly in , forgive me "kitchen doors" , it proves there is a lot to learn from ordinary household technics , but i wonder how it al works with all the extra loose play in the fittings.
a good acomplishment in that particulair scale ! 8)

It's a very clever steering system. It shows you can do a lot of things with studless beams. Quite strong construction and sometimes you don't use the studs of the classic Technic beams. This tractor looks like a similar Scania of a Dutch hauler

Koen schreef:the 2 cylinders in the front are a bit strange, do you got a picture of a real truck having those?

No, it's not strange trucks with heavy cranes have those. This is not a similar vehicle but it shows you the cylinder at the front.

On this site you can find many more trucks with heavy loading cranes.

Thats a clever way to make a steering!!! The wheels keep nice centered.

I like your tatra very very much but what is the actually weight? I might concider building one too.

I'm happy that you like it. :D
The steering is very strong, I've tested it and I think it's stronger than the similar one.
Exactly when I'm building a model I don't do it after a real truck. I build something like the real but I make some differents.
This model gave me the idea:
Afbeelding
And this model gave me the crane idea:
Afbeelding
I'm building it in red because most of my parts are red now. :P

This ideas gave me the idea for my steering:
http://www.texbrick.com/ideas/vehicles/4wd2_tech.html
Afbeelding
(http://nicjasno.com/) ideas

In this scale it's possible to make suspension for it, but I didn't want 'cause there is a very small place above the wheels...
I think you all right about the driving, it's impossible. :(

Don't worry about your English. My English is also bad, but understandable, and I think this is the important.

It's a little bit unrealistic, but not too much. :)
Take a look to this picture:

The crane is taller then the cab.
Like I said I don't build a model for a real truck, I saw lots of pictures about big truck and now I'm building a medley truck.
The crane is strong, but not as strong as I would like to built. :? That 4 pneumatics which lift the 3+ sections aren't strong enough. :? Now I don't want to build a new one, but eventually I will build a stronger one. :)

He has built outriggers, I don't think that the truck falls over when he fully extends them.

I have somehow the feeling that the crane looks a bit chaotic...

Ok, I write in this topic, not in the other one.

Thanks LegoLion! :D
Yes, the engine works good.
It's has only low RPM (about 250-30), but it's very strong.
What you can see on this picture: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Zoli/ ... t_0015.jpg can move.
The truck has a 3+1 gearbox. With this weight (about 30kg) can move only in the first speed.
The engine can turn only in one way.
You can see 1 switch on right and 1 on left. One of them turn the crane, and the other one extend the outriggers in sideway.
These switches make 2 way turn for these functions.
First I would like to build a bigger crane. Take a look on this pic:
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Zoli/ ... tt_045.jpg
I must realise it's not possible. When the crane was in higher position it was about 150studs long. Of course the pneumatics were too weak... :?
The lego pneumatics are so short that's why the +1 section can be extend by hand. :?
The gear-lever is next to the driver. (that's 2 studs long axle is it) It has a difficult mechanism to shift the speeds. :)
(I would like to make this mechanism in cad)
The truck can lifts the 3rd axle. If it's up it hasn't driving, if it's down it has.
Unfortunately this function doesn't workes good. :(
There is as big weight on the 2nd axle if I lift up the 3rd axle the 2 tires shrink, and the 3rd axle is also on the ground...
The front wheels are strong enough because I used this idea in them:
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Steen ... heel_1.jpg
In the cab there is a bed and a case. :)
The truck has a pneumatic steering. I build a mechanism which turns the 1st wheels in the middle position:
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Zoli/ ... tt_006.jpg
On this picture you can see the safety-valve:
http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Zoli/ ... tt_034.jpg
On 3,1 bar it get loose. It's not for the engine. The engine can get 4 or 5 bar also. Ones a time I tried it on 6,5. (it killed one of my pneumatics :( ).
As you can see the tubes in the engine are not original technic tubes.
The trailer is very strong. It has 28 wheels. 24 of them has steering.
The wheels can't steered by they own. They turn only when the truck do it also.
The trailer has 2 pneumatis outriggers.

Sorry but I couldn't understand everything in the last 2 replies. But I try to reply what I could understand.
So This scania is a g type.
I started it for an R type, but I must realised that I can't build the cab's front good. :(
That's why it comes to a G scania.
I would like to use other parts in the cab, like this:
http://media.peeron.com/pics/inv/custpi ... 443861.jpg
Unfortunately I couldn't get parts like this in time.
That's why I use this smaller ones.
The truck wasn't in perfect finished condition for 1000steine.
I could show it only in this positon.
Because I show this I don't want to rebuild the front of the cab.
I also hasn't got time to made all of the decals.
I would like to made 2 decals next to the black and gray parts on the front, because on the real that line isn't in 90degree.

I hope you understand everything now in this creation.
If you have got other questions just write them. :)

Thank you for your reply! :D Amazing that the whole truck really moves when you turn the engine on! Why didn't you make the back wheels also stronger? So that the 2nd axel doesn't or less shrinks?
